RFID and location aware systems can generate massive amounts of data extremely quickly. This data is processed and filtered by a middleware system that is also responsible for controlling and configuring hardware. In many instances, data from the middleware system is pushed directly to an existing ERP solution for visualization and decision making. Location or presence information, by itself, is difficult to interpret into process measurements.
