TagStone works with its customers and its partners – internal and external – to understand their challenges and objectives and make appropriate technical and business recommendations for a solution that fits their needs.
RFID and related technology can be either passive, active or semi-active, real-time location systems or zone based location systems, WiFi or proprietary protocol based, LF, HF, or UHF, or some combination of these characteristics. Within just the passive technologies, vendors sell tags with different form factors that perform differently in different environments, tags that are read-only, write-once, or write-many, tags that can be placed on metal or near water or neither, and tags that can be read by standards compliant readers, or tags that can only be read by proprietary readers. The list goes on. Determining a technology that can provide the most robust, flexible, scalable and cost-effective solution for a set of business problems is a challenge and can be confusing. One of the reasons why every TagStone project begins with a consultation. In addition to understanding and analyzing the core business problems that enterprises wish to address, identifying its physical environment, TagStone spends time informing its clients on the capabilities of emerging wireless technologies and working with them to identify and evaluate the global best-in-class technology that is the best fit for its needs. |
