the beginning
In 2004, radio frequency identification (RFID) technology was
being evaluated and tested by leading Fortune 500 companies for supply chain applications. However, the technology was found to be not only costly at the time, but unreliable. Achieving 100% accuracy was seen as more than a challenge, some believed it was going to be impossible. Standards for the technology were emerging but not recognized by the industry. The potential of the technology was clearly known and technology developers were struggling to develop more robust and reliable products so the potential of RFID could be realized.
At the time of its launch, in November 2004, TagStone was one
of the first providers of RFID technology sytem integration and consulting services in the Middle East with an ambitious aim: to become the leading and preferred provider of RFID technology services. |
